Outback Hotel

LikedAmazing vibe, loved the outback bar and BBQ. Good airco as well!

DislikedThe pool area could be a bit more taken care of, but nothing major

LikedThe Hotel was in a very good position for our needs and the room was very clean and comfortable. The Air Conditioning was exceptional and necessary. The facilities were acceptable and as we were only there for 2 nights we managed to see and do all we wanted to. The free shuttle ran very well but note that it only starts at 10.30. The "Town Square" is where all the shopping facilities, the Art Gallery and Restaurants are situated and easily accessible either by walking vis the Shuttle service. The pick up for each trip and the transfers to and from the airport ran smoothly and took you door to door. Very efficient.

DislikedEverywhere except for the supermarket and Petrol station is cashless and this could cause a problem for overseas visitors who do not have access to credit cards that do not charge transaction fees. Also each card transaction has a fee attached to it at the various facilities.

LikedRoom was comfortable and located in a good position for visiting Uluru

LikedAfter seeing all of the other hotels in the resort, I'm glad we picked the outback. It was much more laid back than the others but had all of the same facilities. We had a power cut our first night there and with no air con. It was unbearable , but the staff moved us to another hotel that still had power. I think they must have had a problem with our pool before we arrived as they were doing lots of work on it. It was really cloudy, and I'm not sure the filters were working , but by the third day we were leaving , it was clear and clean.

DislikedIt's not that I didn't like it. But I thought the pictures were a little misleading. As I was under the impression, the barbecue was something. We could bring our own food too. It is not. It's part of their restaurant. which is definitely worth it, but I just wanted to make sure people were aware. It's not a self-catering thing. That being said, there is a guess kitchen. You could use it, but it was so hot in there we didn't even try.

DislikedReception staff not accommodating. We had a power outage which ruined our first evening - we had to sit in our car for about 3 hours (over 40 degrees and no AC). We did eventually get moved but very late at night which messed up our sun rise plans for the following morning. So, we had to move that to our last morning/pre-departure. We requested 12pm check out to accomplish that (normal check out is 10) and not only did they charge but we had constant interruptions- knocks on the door plus a call asking when we were checking out. Totally unacceptable and it ruined our arrival and check out experience.
